Suzie Homemaker

Some days I feel like cleaning, cooking, and other chores are the bane of my existence, and some days I feel like Suzie Homemaker and think I can tackle anything that comes my way with a smile on my face and a skip in my step. Unfortunately I never know which way I'm going to feel on any given day. I wish I felt the latter more often. . . Today has been a Suzie Homemaker kind of day. I have done dishes, and vacuumed and picked up and made some pretty awesome Banana Muffins, on top of doing normal mom stuff such as refereeing squabbles over toys and picking up the Lego's and making snacks and lunch , etc. I'm not really even too bothered that my husband is going to be home late tonight!

Banana Muffins
3 very ripe bananas mashed
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 2/3 cup flour

Cream sugar and shortening. Add remainder of the wet ingredients, then add the dry ingredients. Scoop into muffin tin. Makes 1 dozen regular sized muffins. Bake at 325 for 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Those look wonderful!! I will have to try making them sometime.

I just wanted to say that I thoroughly enjoy reading your blog, Melissa. I look every single day! I enjoy what you write and laugh every time you talk about those Legos now! lol

Wanna come "suzie homemaker" over at my house? Today's been ONE OF THOSE DAYS and I've not gotten a thing accomplished today, and am actually even making backwards progress, I think. I told Emily I'd made an "unbirthday" cake today, but that's not going to happen!!!

LOVE the bit about the Legos, too. LOL!! For me, it's Matchbox cars. They're everywhere. J pics them up, and I blink and they're back times ten. LOL

The banana muffins looks YUMMY! I have bananas that might just be banana bread/muffin worthy. OY!

I'm enjoying your blog - I found you on the TT list. Re: the banana muffins - I have added diced dried apricots to mine occassionally and they're GREAT! Try it if you like apricots.

Have a blessed day!
