Thankful Thursday

~I am thankful to be feeling well! The last few months have been rather difficult with the pregnancy and getting sick on top of it. But I am finally feeling well again and it feels so good! It is definitely something I have taken for granted in the past.

~I am thankful for job at the Gymboree that is going well, and so far I am enjoying it! I am also thankful for my husband who watches the kids while I am at work. He gives them a bath when they need it, and he has the house picked up by the time I get home.

~I am thankful for the progress Megan has made in the potty-learning department, and I am thankful that Kyle is trying his hardest to use the potty too! Already it is saving us money on diapers! Yea! Every little bit counts!

~I am thankful for the awesome deal I got on hamburger at the grocery store on Monday. Can't beat Ground Beef at the low price of 1.33/lb! Woohoo!

~I am thankful to God, my provider, in whom I can safely trust. I have seen him provide for our family, and for my brothers as well!

What's On My Fridge?

I've been tagged! And it happens to be about one of the more embarrassingly cluttered parts of my house. Oh well, you asked for it! LOL!

So here is what is on my fridge. . .

As you can see my fridge is decorated with pictures of my kids and art projects that Megan brings home from school. The top of my fridge I use for storage of the kids playdough, their coloring supplies, a bin of Megan's school projects, and my husband's bin of keys, tools, business cards and other 'junk'. I really wish I had a better place for those things, but right now I don't so that's where they stay.

OK, now I'm going to tag Heather. . .

Working Girl

I've been debating getting a part time job for a while. I manage our finances, and though I think I do pretty well, things are very tight for us. I think had I not gotten pregnant, I would not have decided to get a job, but with a 3rd little one coming and a HUGE insurance deductible I decided I had to do something or we would be swamped by the hospital bills.

So I went out a few nights about a month ago and filled out applications at several stores at our local mall. About a week later I got a call from Gymboree. Within just a few days I had an interview, was hired, and started working. I'm just going to be working 2 or 3 evenings a week so I don't feel like I'm neglecting my family in any way. Actually, so far I've enjoyed the time being a working adult instead of just a mom. I love being a mom, but as all you stay at home moms know, it can get SO draining. Now I feel like I am getting some breaks during the week to focus on something besides the needs of my darling kids. Granted, I do spend a lot of my time at work talking about them with my coworkers or oohing over the adorable clothes that I think would be so cute on Megan or Kyle. And need I mention the 40% discount I get as an employee! Woohoo! I haven't bought anything yet, but I've had my eye on some cute things. I keep reminding myself that the money I make is designated for medical bills, but I might let myself splurge every once in a while.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Look what I got in the mail! A cute little homemade Valentine card that Megan made at school!

And look who got a haircut! It's very hard to believe possible, but I think she's even cuter than before!

Preschool Valentine's Day Party

Megan's preschool class is having a Valentine's party. They sent a note home and asked that every child bring in 18 Valentine's.

As a kid, I remember always so badly wanting the valentine's with the lollipops or some kind of candy attached, but being the 4th of 5 children, my parents never were able to spend extra on the 'fancy' valentine's. So I'm fulfilling my childhood dream through my daughter. I got her cute little precious moments valentine's and to each one we taped a fruit roll-up. I totally would have gone for the lollipops, but they request that we don't send in candy. I hope they don't think fruit roll-ups are too candyish. Oh well, each mom will have to decide on her own if she wants her child to eat it. I know I don't mind if Megan has them once in a while.

Cute Kiddos

Megan's class learned about penguins a few weeks ago. They each made a paperbag penguin costume and had a penguin parade, waddling around their school. It was SO cute! Megan was so excited to show grandma and daddy her penguin costume when she got home.

Megan and Kyle love each other. Just before I took this photo, Megan sat down next to Kyle and hugged him and said "I love you bubba". AW!

Today Kyle helped himself to a leftover piece of cold pizza from the fridge. I thought he looked so cute eating his pizza, I just couldn't resist snapping a photo. BTW, isn't he looking like such a big boy these days!

Big Improvements!

The last couple of weekends have been busy with some much needed, and overdue home improvements.

The first project was our bathroom. I was always embarrassed when someone needed to use it. It looked so bad, but with a couple of coats of paint it has been totally transformed! See for yourself!

The second project was widening the doorway of our closet. We had a 6 foot closet, but only a 2 foot door so 4 feet of the closet were very inaccessable. My handy husband was able to cut out some wall, frame it in, put up some shelving in order to maximize the space, paint, and hang the doors in just a couple of days. There is just some touch up plaster/paint work that needs to be done. Now I have more than enough space for my hanging clothes, as well as shelves for our sheets and room for coats, and more! Here are the pictures. I did forget to take a before picture, so I took a picture of the kids room so you can see how our closet used to be (since their room is exactly like ours was).

I'm Back!

Wow, I took a much longer blogging break than originally planned. Now that we are well into the new year, things are finally slowing down and returning to normal so hopefully I'll have more time and energy to write.
I do have BIG news! I am happy to announce that we are expecting our 3rd little one! I am 14 weeks pregnant. We had an ultrasound last week and everything is looking perfect. The technician predicted that it is a boy baby. It is still a bit early to tell, so we will definitely be double checking at our 20 ultrasound, but for now we are referring to him as a he, and trying to find the perfect boy name. We are having a very hard time with a name this time around. Just can't seem to find something that we both love. If you have any suggestions, feel free to leave them in a comment.
Morning sickness is definitely the biggest reason I haven't blogged in so long. There for a while I was so sick and tired that every free moment I found, I spent lying on the couch, and when I wasn't lying on the couch, I was wishing I were. Thankfully I have started to feel better. Not perfect yet, but definitely better. Here is a picture of my little pregnant belly.

Megan and Kyle are just as full of energy as ever. Here are a couple of recent pictures.

A few weeks ago my MIL took Megan and I to see Disney Princesses on Ice. She even splurged on front row seats! We were literally a foot away from the ice! Megan LOVED it and was mesmerized the entire time. She still talks about seeing the princesses skating. And recently we were given free tickets to see Sesame Street Live. All 4 of us will be going to see that in a couple of months. I'm sure Megan will love that as well, not sure how will Kyle will do with it though. It's just a long time for a 2 year old to sit.
Well, that's about all of the exciting news that I can think of, and have time to share. Hopefully it is just the first of many such blogs in 2008!
